Battle of the Bands Evaluation

BAND NAME: MONIKI !

1. The 1^st instrument I made was the xylophone with 5 different sized metal bars. I had a hard time making this instrument and when I finished I realized the sound that it made was not what I was looking for. So, that being said, we made a second xylophone, this time it was a water xylophone. We got 6 glass bottles and put 6 different measurements of water in each oh them. We hit it with metal spoons and the sound was great. The songs we chose were really cool. Jingle bells, the song you assigned, went really well. The third song, Rain Rain Go Away, was really cute, and Rudolph was very difficult. We practiced 2 times a week and finally got it down!

2. I think Mr. Tillay assigned a long-term project (10 weeks) to test all the students. I think he wanted us to use all 10 weeks to practice and to see who really did. I think he could tell in our presentation who actually practiced through the months and who practiced just once. I think Mr. Tillay wanted us to have enough time to also make instruments and to make multiple instruments because there are always technical difficulties. Thank goodness he gave us 10 weeks because my partner and I DID, indeed, face technical difficulties with our instruments.

Our band was called MoNiki and the instruments we made were the water xylophone and a tambourine .The water xylophone we put different measurements of water in them and the more water the bottle contain the deeper the pitch and since it was a solid sound could travel through it faster so it made a better sound quality .the songs we played were Jingle Bells, Rudolph the red nose reindeer, Rain Rain Go Away.

The sound quality I personally thought we were good and everything came out good. The way we showed person-ship is by wearing reindeer ears and a red nose and sang during our presentation. The way we went ABOVE AND BEYOND we made the whole class cupcakes and cookies and it made it fun. We also practice 2 times a week we really did work hard, but we didn’t know our songs weren’t long enough which we would have fixed but we did the best we could do.

WHY DID MR. T ASSIGN YOU A LONG TERM PROJECT (TEN WEEKS TIME)?

I personally believe the reason you gave us a long term project so we can practice and have enough time to develop our project and give us the right amount of time to get this drain stormed. The materials and be able to make it in time and at the same time practice to make sure we sound the best and you do it for us to achieve great accomplishments. Also It wasn’t a project you could have done in a couple of days without practice so I’m glad we got ten weeks to practice and get everything done.

In this half i have been doing much better than last i came in kind of late into the class but I'm catching up and trying to understand a little more than before ... i work really late thats why my blogs are later in the day than earlier i go to work in Fairfield to support me because my mom cant do it by herself . So i do a lot of things later in the day. my attendance is quit well i don't miss to much of school unless it is absolutely necessary , but I'm very tired but Niki keeps me going shes my best friend .After school i try to get some studying in for at least an hour before i go out to Fairfield.I dont come back until late but this is temporary until the lady i work for comes back . its been hard to have time to do all the homework i have and sleep and study but its something that i have to deal with. i will improve on more studying time and doing more homework and labs .

right now me and niki only in our group we decided to make a band several drums using interesting stuff and this one thing we got an idea from a pipe im making a guitar were using home held appliances and stuff from stores .

today i learned something today ......................and ate a burrito ummmm bye

what have i learned

physics to me is something we use in our daily lives. physics is involved in driving an automobile by using concepts such as motion and forces. also in all of our sports physics is used , concepts such as force,mass,and acceleration you hit a baseball which has mass then is accelerated by the force of the bat.
My study habits consist of reading the textbook , assistance from friends and doing daily exercises around the house. the number of time log entries is 32 and the time i spent usually studying is mostly during the night when my siblings are asleep. In 38 days i have spent 40 hours of my personal time learning the concepts of physics.
My attendance in this class is above the standard . I have only missed one day but I used it well by making sure I asked about the work from a classmate. I haven't missed a day of school therefore i did not have the need to make up missing work. I failed to attend the Tuesday after school session because I have to babysit my siblings so i cant make tuesday sessions.
i use fusion every night to see what assignments are due and to see whats coming up in our class. i also use section links to get extra help from the internet and several different sub websites.in addition to that i login usually everyday to see whats due for homework and to keep up-to-date on assignments. i also use section files for papers or handouts i have failed to get in class.
i do not wear my badge without being reminded because i forget about it, but do have it on me at all times.when entering i do not have a hat or an electronic device but i use electronic device to take notes and to take pictures of several things we do in class. in class i tend to ask tons of questions in class on multifaceted such as something on a lab or stuff i simply do not understand. in addition to that i do keep my area quit natty and i do pick up after my mess from either projects or food after break . i do push in my chair at the end of class because it apart of being natty and polite to others.
my holt book is getting used for several things to do homework and to get a better understanding of concepts and equations . for the most part i do my homework but since i work its starting to get harder because i have to help support my family so i have to work but i try my best to do my homework and for the few papers i am missing im trying diligently to do my late work.i have been doing my topics and objectives .i have only turned in 3 and is working hard on this 5th one to make sure all my data is correct.my notebook is horrible due to the fact that i am very lost in whats suppose to be in them because all work is electronically submitted.i have took all my quizes and test in your class and working to achieve higher than normal on at least a couple of them if possible.i do use my planner very muchit helps me stay focus and organized. since ive been in the class i have had my parent get my planner signed every
Friday. im not to sure on whats complete cornell notes but i do due them every time there assigned.on my quizes im not doing so well i get some stuff about the concept but im not getting the complete idea but im trying my best but i am going to try to come after school or before if possible.
in class at times i work quietly but me and niki do help each other out on a lot of things she helps me understand some things i don't get in the class and i do the same for her.when class work is assigned i will do it.i do take notes when we lecture and i do keep them but my siblings get into a lot of my stuff so they sometimes get into them .when a video which i haven't personally seen one but i will take notes.in class when we take notes i do complete them in time and do get a lot out of it . yes i have highlighted the phyz handouts fgor important things and things that stand out for me. when i have a test i do study these hand outs for extra practice and i call or email a buddies for assistance on studying.
Right now i have tried to make a video ,but wasnt to successful we needed alot of help .I have also looked under section links to get more help on certain assignments . On labs i try my best to understand the physic part about it and the concept . in addition to that i try my best to with my circumstance of having ADD and short memory and do need extra time on taking test i do my best and try with great effort to succeed.
my strengths in this class in paying attention when needed . also trying my best to do the best i can . and math when is understand im very good at it . asking question if that can be one .my weaknesses consist of ADD which i get very distracted and needing more time on taking test so there nare very much my weakness.Things i needed to control better is understanding physics i think i get a couple of things but not as a whole physics.
in this class i think i should earn at least a C for effort because i do take the time out to do my work and with all the things that is going on in school and in home i get stressed out about several things and it would be great not to fail if i don't deserve to and i do try my best to understand the concepts and formulas and several things to understand physic but maybe with a little more effort i can get there if possible due to my conflicts at home.

today we finished the frog competiton on the long jump sami ,eddie, and some other person that im not to sure his name won and it was very interesting to watch the reason eddie kept winning his challenges is because he got help on his from Mr. Delgado and he learned that zip ties worked better so he had better tools to work with also i have experience the importance to pay attention to this account because of deadlines also in the competition we had we had beauty and the beast contest to determine who was the prettiest and the ugliest but we picked three beauty as are winner i personally think the frog in the period before us with the brown curly hair looks the best and probably the most effort in the frog competiton and i also have some oictures to sshow you what the frogs looked like and actually get it

today i learned how to make my frog better i realize i didnt make a jumping frog i made a regular frog so eddie taught me how to do that thanks eddie and i leaned the secret to the frog thicker paper lol the key varibles is being asble to fold and make the frog i think is very important to do.the best is my beauty or beast frog i made very pretty .and today was a exercise day =)

-SO FAR I HAVE LEARNED HOW TO DO CORNELL NOTES AND TO CONVERT SI UNITS AND GETTING MORE USE TO THIS CENTURY LOL. MR.T IS DOING A GOOD JOB TEACHING US ABOUT ALL THE NEW PROGRAMS AND THINGS WITH THE COMPUTERS . MY STUDY HABITS ARE TO READ THE CHAPTER AND HAVE SOME UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT ITS TAKING ABOUT WHICH IS QUIT HARD FOR ME . I DO NOT HAVE A PLACE TO STUDY BECAUSE I HAVE ALOT OF FAMILY SO ITS HARD TO GET PEACE HERE SO I TRY MY BEST .IM TRYING TO GET USE TO THINGS RIGHT NOW AND TRYING TO COMPLETE EVERYTHING WITH GREAT EFFORT . I GOT A C IN THE FIRST GRADING PERIOD BECAUSE OF BEING VERY LOST FOR A WHILE SO IM TRYING TO GET ON TRACK .
